Here at the City of Washburn & County of Bayfield Housing Authority, our mission is to provide quality, affordable housing, which is decent and safe, to eligible families.
To reach this goal, we offer a variety of rental assistance programs and rental units scattered throughout the City of Washburn and Bayfield County to low and moderate income families. Our programs offered are the Rural Development Multifamily program, the Housing and Urban Development program and the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program. The Housing Choice Voucher program offers tenant based vouchers for community housing with private landlords or our housing authority units as available and appropriate.
All of our rental sites provide off street parking, lawn care/maintenance and snow removal. We require a $400 security deposit due upon leasing. Family Homes require a $500 security deposit due upon leasing. We also have an animal policy which requires a $250 animal deposit if a pet is being considered. We do have limits on the type of animal as well as the size and this should be discussed with us prior to leasing. The animal policy has more requirements and information can be provided if considering having an animal in your household.
